Myrtle Beach, SC - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's baseball team wrapped up their spring break trip in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday with a doubleheader against Colby-Sawyer College. The Dolphins were looking to continue their winning ways, but unfortunately fell short to the Chargers in game one with a final score of 6-4.
UMSV once again jumped to an early lead, scoring in the first inning as junior

Dom Porto. The Dolphins continued to connect, also scoring in the second and third innings. UMSV was able to extend their lead to 4-1 in the top of the sixth as senior
Conor Martin hit a solo home run, his third homer of the 2025 season. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, the Chargers responded with a 5-run inning to close out the game.
Junior
Joshua McCormick would lead the Dolphins in hits with 2, while Porto, Granata, Martin, and graduate student
Joey DiNorcia all finished with an RBI.
Despite dropping game one, the Dolphins were not fazed, and would ultimately split the series in a commanding 12-4 victory in game two with sophomore pitcher
Shawn Ryan getting the win. The Dolphins responded to two early runs from the Chargers with three of their own in the first inning. UMSV saw another strong inning in the second, sparked by an RBI from graduate student
JT Jimenez. Martin would go on to hit a 3-run double for the Dolphins, extending their lead to 7-2.
The Dolphins put away the game in fourth inning as they recorded 5 hits to bring in 4 runs, with Martin and Granata registering the first two hits to get UMSV going. A hit to center field from junior
Pablo Austin would send Martin across home plate and advance Granata to second. Junior
John Anthony Spanoudakis continued to build this momentum with a double to left center allowing Granata and Austin to score.
Porto and Austin led the Dolphins in hits with 3, while Martin, Austin, Spanoudakis, sophomore
Zach Turko each had two. Martin closed out his impressive day with 3 RBIs in game two.
The Dolphins return to Riverdale with a successful 4-1 record down in South Carolina. Now 9-3 on the season, UMSV will open up Skyline Conference action with a doubleheader on Sunday, March 23, against Yeshiva University.
