Doylestown, PA - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's men's lacrosse team made the trip to Delaware Valley University on Saturday to take on the Aggies in a non-conference game. The Dolphins kept things close in the first half, until a dominant third quarter from the Aggies allowed them to pull away with a 12-7 victory.
The home team was on the board first, but UMSV immediately answered with a goal from freshman
Elvis Prempeh. Tight defense from both teams kept the game tied at 1-1 until senior
Ryan Jean-Pharuns and junior
Isaac Parsons scored just 45 seconds apart and gave UMSV a 3-1 lead. A late goal from Delaware Valley would make it 3-2 at the end of the second quarter.
The Aggies would go on to outscore the Dolphins 7-3 in the third, good for a 9-6 lead going into the final fifteen minutes of play. The home team continued to thrive on the offense end, putting up three fourth-quarter goals, while the Dolphins struggled to find the back of the net.
Prempeh and Parsons both finished with two goals and an assist. Sophomore
Chai Dunlap led the Dolphins in assists with three, while fellow sophomore
Alfred Lamptey led in ground balls with five. Graduate student
Joseph Seminatore registered 12 saves.
The Dolphins will take this week to reset and will be back in action on Saturday, March 8, for another non-conference game against Salem State University on Marillac Field.
