Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's men's volleyball team put on a dominant performance in a conference match up against Yeshiva on Thursday night. The Dolphins did not disappoint their home crowd, sweeping the Maccabees in three sets (25-14, 25-14, 25-19). 

UMSV set the tone early thanks to four consecutive service aces from graduate student James Rose. Yeshiva would go on a brief run of their own, but UMSV remained in control with freshman Tyler Hanna and sophomore Yestro Luciano Jr. both contributing to the offense. A service ace from junior Matthew Barrancos would cap off the first set for the Dolphins. 

The Dolphins continued their strong play in the second set, capitalizing off of the Maccabees' errors with Rose, Hanna, and Luciano Jr. once again leading the offense for UMSV. The momentum carried over into the final set, with the Dolphins going on multiple runs. Four straight UMSV points and a service ace from Hanna sealed the home court victory for the Dolphins. 

Hanna continued his strong start to his collegiate career, finishing the night with 11 kills, 3 service aces, and two digs. Rose had 6 digs, 5 kills, and 5 service aces, while Luciano Jr. added 4 kills and 4 digs. Barrancos had a game-high 26 assists, to go along with 6 digs, two kills, and two service aces.

Coach Jeremiah Huntt saw tremendous contributions from other Dolphins as well. Senior Olatomiwa Ibitayo and freshman Terrence Short both registered 4 kills each. Freshman Ethan Castro added 3 service aces and 3 digs, while fellow freshman Miguel Calderon impressed with 5 digs in just one set. 

The Dolphins are back in action on Saturday as they head to St. Joseph's University-Long Island for a tri-match.
