Dolphins Defeated At Home By Rams

Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent continued their string of conference action, this time hosting Farmingdale on the Sharp Center floor. Despite battling hard, it was the Rams who emerged victorious, as they departed Riverdale winners by the score of 65-53.

The result put the Dolphins at 2-6 overall, with a 1-4 record against the Skyline.

UMSV received double-digit scoring efforts from two standout performers in Nailea Green and Angelina Escobinas. Green, who has been a force both as a scorer and rebounder this season, recorded her fourth double double this season, leading the way with 15 points and 12 boards. Escobinas had an efficient evening, going five-of-seven from the floor, good for 12 points. Julia Angeles continued to put together well-rounded performances, as she added eight points, six boards, four assists and a block. Fellow senior Kyla McLean was husting on both ends of the floor, scoring five points to go along with three rebounds and an assist.

Freshmen Jadamarie Henry and Alexa Zephirin had four points apiece.

The Dolphins kept up with the Rams throughout the first quarter. Despite trailing throughout, they continued to cut into Farmingdale's lead. McLean and Grace Kennedy each hit big shots to make it a four point game and two point game, respectively. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, they shot just 36% from the floor, and struggles in the waning minutes of the half pushed the Rams lead to double digits.

The visitors would continue to knock down shots, and even a strong shooting effort in the final quarter wasn't enough for the Dolphins to overcome.

The Dolphins will take the rest of the week to retool before heading on the road to take on USMMA.
