Dolphins Dominate Maccabees For First Conference Victory

Riverdale, NY - The Dolphins were looking to capture their second victory of the season. They not only did just that, but it was in impressive fashion.

The Univesity of Mount Saint Vincent regrouped over the Thanksgiving holiday and returned to the Sharp Center floor, where they challenged the Maccabees in Skyline action. It was a total team effort, as the Dolphins cruised to an 80-47 win, giving the team their first conference win of the year and bringing their overall record to 2-4 thhrough six games.

Junior Nailea Green continued her fantastic 2025 campaign. She paced the team in both points (15) and rebounds (10), giving her a third double-double while shooting an efficient six-of-nine from the floor. The return of sophomore Grace Kennedy has been a major positive to the Dolphins, as the East Fishkill guard put together an impressive performance of her own with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal.

The Dolphins as a whole saw 13 different players score at least one point. The backcourt duo of AB Burnett and Angelina Escobinas scored seven points apiece while combining for five assists. Olivia Dutzer was productive in her minutes with a six point, four rebound, three steal came while Sophia Mandalakis and Alexa Zephirin came off the bench and scored six points apiece.

The Dolphins shot 54% from the floor for the contest, but knocked down over 60% of their shots in both the first and fourth quarters. They first hit a double figure lead with over four minutes left in the first and saw that balloon to 37 points at its highest in the final minutes of the action.

UMSV will look to keep the vibes high heading into the weekend when they hit the road to take on Purchase College.
