Dolphins Struggle At Home, Fall To Knights In Three Sets

Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent returned to Riverdale on Tuesday evening as they looked to get back in the win column after consecutive tough losses to St. Joseph's University Brooklyn and the United States Merchant Marine Academy. It wasn't for the cards for the Dolphins, as they struggled at home against Mount Saint Mary College, losing in three sets.

UMSV is now 7-12 overall with a 1-4 record in conference play.

It was a tough night inside the Sharp Center, as the Dolphins struggled to get things going offensively. They led at different points in each of the three sets, but MSMC walked away victorious in all three by the scores of 20-25, 14-25 and 22-25.

Freshman Sienna Martin was the go-to hitter on Tuesday with eight kills while also pacing the team in digs with seven. Classmate Anna Nolasco had five of her own while Alyssa Padgett and Olivia Dutzer each took home four kills. Padgett was also a force at the net with two solo blocks and a block assist.

Stephanie Rodriguez continues to shine in the setter position, with her 18 assists against the Knights giving her 337 in her first year with the program. She also had six digs, three kills and three service aces. Padgett, Gabrielle Mills, Carly Snyder and Paige Staley each had a service ace as well.

UMSV is on the receiving end of a long break to regroup and gear up for their next Skyline matchup. They're next contest is scheduled for October 22 against Farmingdale.
