Middletown, CT - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's women's soccer team took a road trip to Connecticut on Saturday morning, taking on a tough Wesleyan University squad as the Dolphins continue to compete against high quality non-conference opponents on the heels of their 2023 Skyline Conference championship victory. It was a tough one for UMSV, as they would fall to the Cardinals by the score of 7-0 to bring their overall record to 1-2 through three games.
The Dolphins struggled to get anything going offensively, as the team combined for just four total shots against Wesleyan's tough defense. Starters
Cameron Cruz and
Arianna Morales each saw their shots reach the net, but both were turned away.
Javiera Sanchez did make seven saves in fourteen chances, with the Cardinals taking 24 total shots in the afternoon affair.
UMSV will look to right the ship on Wednesday evening. They'll return to Marillac Field for a 7 PM kickoff against New Paltz.
