Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Dolphins Blanked At Home Against New Paltz

Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's women's soccer team took Marillac Field for just the second time this season, as they continued their tough non-conference schedule against SUNY New Paltz. The game was knotted at zero at the break, but a quick goal by the Hawks broke the tie, eventually leading to a 2-0 victory for the visitors.

The result put the Dolphins at 1-3 through four contests.

The Hawks generated offense all evening, but thanks in large part to the Dolphins defense - led by Dana DeDominicis, Cameron Cruz, Maddie Halford and Gisselle Soria - New Paltz struggled to convert shot attempts. Junior Javiera Sanchez had a fantastic game in net, making four first half saves.

UMSV had a chance to get on the board on a penalty kick, but Soria's shot was stopped by a diving New Paltz keeper.

The Hawks would jump on the board just nine seconds into the second half, setting the tone for the final 45 minutes of action. The visitors would take an additional 15 shots over that span, with sophomore Kaitlyn Grady making six saves after subbing in for Sanchez.

Soria would lead the way with three shots on goal while DeDominicis and senior midfielder Alicia Rodriguez had two apiece.

The Dolphins would look to regroup over the next six days before challenging Purchase College in the Skyline Conference opener.
