Bronx, NY - The Dolphins are back in the win column.
After a string of tough contests, the University of Mount Saint Vincent's women's volleyball team picked up an impressive victory over Lehman, one that saw the Dolphins win in straight sets by the scores of 25-18, 25-24, 25-13. The final result improved UMSV's overall record to 3-7 through 10 contests.
"It was a really good team win tonight," stated head coach Joe Chojnacki. "We had worked a lot on our passing game and I'm glad to see that it paid off. Our serve receive still needs some work, but we were in a better position tonight than we were last weekend."
Sophomore
JaKaia Lotz furthered cemented herself as a standout performer on this year's squad, leading the way with 12 kills. Setter
Lydia Aryee had an impressive night with 21 assists and three service aces, both team highs.
Melanieann Broderick and
Sophia Madalakis combined for nine kills and three blocks while
Dominique Otranto added three kills of her own. Sophomore
Jessica Broderick impressed with 12 digs.
The Dolphins are back in Skyline Conference action next week, starting with a game at home against Sarah Lawrence.
