Riverdale, NY - The Dolphins will have to wait until Sunday to get back in the win column.
After suffering the first loss of the season to Manhattanville on Tuesday, the University of Mount Saint Vincent's men's soccer team dropped only their second game of the 2024 season on Thursday in a non-conference home matchup to Lehman College. UMSV struggled to get offense going in the afternoon affair before dropping the game 2-0.Â
The result put the Dolphins at 6-2-2 at the halfway point of their campaign.Â
UMSV was outshot 16-9 in a game that saw the Lightning control the time of possession. Lehman would jump out to a one goal lead 20 minutes into the first half on a doorstep goal and would maintain the advantage the rest of the afternoon. Dolphins goalkeeper
Samuel Reine was trying to aid the offense in the late minutes of the contest, and being out of position led to Lehman's second goal less than a minute before time would expire.Â
Former Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week
William Sornin led the way for UMSV with two shots, with both reaching goal. Defender
Trevor Pegg would see one of his shot attempts saved as well.Â
Reine made seven saves across the nine shots that reached him.Â
The Dolphins will have another conference test on Sunday when Yeshiva University makes their way to Riverdale.Â
