Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's women's lacrosse team hosted Farmingdale State College on Saturday, with the two Skyline Conference rivals vying for a playoff spot. The Dolphins also hosted Senior Day in front of their fans for seniors Alyssa La Torre and
Katherine Hungerford, both of whom played their final regular season game on their home field. Unfortunately for UMSV, they fell to the Rams by the score of 21-11 despite competing throughout the contest. The Dolphins are now 4-9 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
After junior
Macey Forg kicked the game off with a score, it was Farmingdale who would excel offensively, as the visitors would go on to score five straight goals. The Dolphins would do their best to answer, as Forg would score one more while
Alicia Rodriguez continued her tremendous 2024 campaign with a score of her own, but the Rams would answer each conversion.
The Dolphins, however, would put together a tremendous second quarter and into the third, as they'd go on a 7-0 run of their own, with Rodriguez scoring five more goals to go along with a Forg and
Ella Meberg conversion. The Rams, however, would answer with a run of their own, scoring 13 of the final 14 goals of the game, including the final nine to walk away with the win.
Rodriguez would finish the day with six goals, three assists, nine points and six draw controls, all team highs. Forg would finish with four of her own. La Torre and
Dana DeDominicis would each record two caused turnovers in the loss while DeDominicis also had four ground balls. Hungerford and
Makenna Reekie split time in net and combined for 12 saves.
The Dolphins look to keep their playoff hopes alive when they challenge Purchase College on the road next week.
