Dolphins Struggle On Road Against Farmingdale

Farmingdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's men's lacrosse team continued their Skyline Conference play on Friday evening, this time taking on Farmingdale State College out on Long Island. The Dolphins struggled to keep pace with the Rams, dropping the game by the score of 22-6. The loss puts UMSV at a 5-6 overall record and a 1-2 mark against the Skyline.

Farmingdale put things out of reach early, making it hard for the Dolphins to gain any positive momentum. The Rams rattled off 10 consecutive first quarter goals, with UMSV finally getting on the boars with 3:40 remaining in the quarter when 2023 All-Conference selection Jacob Cochran scored his 17th goal of the season. The Dolphins defense would blank the Rams the rest of the quarter and would open the second with another goal, this time off the stick of Isaac Parsons, who is in the midst of a terrific second year in Riverdale.

The Rams, however, would regain form, as they would answer the six straight goals before closing out the half up 17-4.

Cochran, Parsons and freshman attackman Chai Dunlap would add points to the board in the second half, but it wasn't enough to overcome the powerful Farmingdale squad.

In addition to his hat trick, Cochran added both a ground ball and caused turnover. Defensemen Adrian Guillermo and Jake Luxoro would both scoop four ground balls while causing a turnover each, both tying team-best totals in the loss. Starting defenseman Walker Moore relieved starting goaltender Mark Lulgjuraj in net in the fourth quarter and made two saves in that span.

The Dolphins will look to right to ship in Throggs Neck against Maritime College this Wednesday.
