Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Dolphins Cruise To Three Set Victory Over Old Westbury

Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's men's volleyball kept up their winning ways on Wednesday evening when they paced Old Westbury in straight set to earn their fourth Skyline Conference win in eight tries. The victory comes off the heels of a successful weekend for UMSV, one that saw the Dolphins top Yeshiva University twice, in addition to a tough five-set loss to Purchase College. UMSV is also now 5-8 at the midway point of their season.

The trio of Kevin Erhand, James Rose and Kyle Thompson continued their torrid pace for head coach Harris Boyes. This time it was Erhand who led the way offensively for the Dolphins, as the senior recorded a team-best 13 kills in the win. Rose recorded his fourth straight game in double digit kills with 10 while Thompson had six of his own.

Setter Matthew Barrancos added 35 assists in the win while libero Felix Paulino had 12 digs. Bigs Olatomiwa Ibitayo and Yestro Luciano Jr. combined for 11 kills and three blocks. Timothy Magsino impressed in the serve game with three aces.

To the Panthers' credit, they kept pace with the Dolphins in the first set, trailing by just one point for a large portion of it. UMSV, however, turned up the action over the final two sets. allowing Old Westbury to score a combined 29 points in sets two and three.

Skyline Conference action rolls on for the Dolphins this weekend. They'll travel to Purchase to take on Manhattanville and Ramapo in a tri-match.
