Purchase, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent continued their stretch of Skyline Conference games on Saturday, as they traveled to nearby Purchase to face off against Manhattanville College for the first time this season, as well as their final contest against Ramapo College in the 2024 season. The Dolphins swept the Valiants in consecutive sets before dropping the game to the Roadrunners, keeping their conference record at an one game below .500 nine games into the slate.
It was
Olatomiwa Ibitayo who led the Dolphins against the Valiants. The Floral Park product registered a team-high nine kills for the Dophins, tying teammate
James Rose, who has also been riding a hot streak offensively over the last number of games. Outsides
Kevin Erhand and
Kyle Thompson combined for 15 kills as well.
Matthew Barrancos connected on 32 assists, his fourth straight games with 30 or more helpers while Erhand, Thompson and Barrancos finished in double digits in the digs category.
The second game didn't work out how head coach
Harris Boyes and UMSV planned. The Dolphins picked up just nine kills in the contest, with Erhand adding three more to his 2024 stat line.
Conference play rolls on, with a highly anticipated matchup against Purchase College taking place on Thursday inside the Sharp Center.
