Dolphins Drop Home Showdown Against DeSales

Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's women's basketball team saw their two game win streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins hosted DeSales University in Riverdale, and it was the Bulldogs who walked away winners of the contest, with the final score coming in at 44-31.

UMSV dropped back to .500, with their record now sitting at 4-4 overall.

It was a tough time for the offense all game long. The Dolphins shot just 26% from the floor while featuring no scorers in double figures. Graduate student Erin Smith remained the team's top bucket getter, scoring eight points with two assists and two steals. Forward JaKaia Lotz dominated the boards with 12 rebounds while Kayla Hanley stuffed the stat sheet with three points, seven boards, two assists, two steals and a block.

Freshman Grace Kennedy was a bright spot for UMSV. The two-sport athlete came off the bench and played a season-high 25 minutes, en route to a six point, two rebound, two assist performance.

The Dolphins defense, however, had some strong moments. UMSV caused 18 Bulldog turnovers to go along with nine steals.

UMSV will look to get back on track in the Sharp Center on Tuesday when they take on Sarah Lawrence College.
