Dolphins Cruise To Skyline Victory Over Yeshiva

New York, NY - The Dolphins are back in the win column against Skyline competition.

The University of Mount Saint Vincent was back on the road on Wednesday night, this time traveling to Baruch College to take on Yeshiva University for the team's fourth conference matchup of the season. UMSV took care of business in a major way, as they'd head back to Riverdale with a 22-point victory, both improving their overall record to 4-3 while bringing their winning percentage against Skyline opponents to an even .500 in the early goings of the season.

It was the Kayla Hanley show for the Dolphins in their victory over the Maccabees, as the guard was all over the stat sheet. The Yonkers, New York native led the Dolphins in rebounds (nine), assists (five) and steals (four) while scoring an efficient 13 points on five-of-seven shooting, including knocking down 50% of her shots from beyond the arc. Lead guard Erin Smith continued the strong start to her UMSV career, leading all scorers with 15 points while adding four boards and four assists.

Transfer guard AB Burnett knocked down three of five three point attempts, good for a 12-point finish. Forward JaKaia Lotz had an impressive night with 11 points and seven boards of her own while Julia Angeles chipped in six rebounds and a pair of steals.

The Dolphins struggled as a whole from the floor, but it was their defense that shut down the Maccabees. UMSV would force 20 total turnovers over the course of the evening and would score 19 points off of them.

UMSV returns to the Sharp Center this Saturday as they take a break from conference action to challenge DeSales University.
