Hackettstown, NJ - The University of Mount Saint Vincent saw their winning streak come to a halt on Monday evening. After earning victories in their last four contests, the Dolphins struggled on the road, losing to Centenary University by the score of 81-74. UMSV is now 4-4 through their first eight games of the 2024-25 campaign.
The Dolphins starting lineup once again put together a fantastic performance, one that kept the team in the game throughout the 40 minutes of action.
DJ Tucker scored an even 20 points against the Cyclones, bringing his scoring average to 16.4 points per game on the year. The graduate student also grabbed nine rebounds in the loss.
Senior
Adrian Rraci returned to the starting lineup and rewarded head coach
James Mooney for his decision. The Yonkers native had one of his most well-rounded games to date, scoring 18 points on eight-of-15 shooting while leading UMSV in boards (nine), assists (six) and steals (three). Guard
Kevin Agyemang had 16 points and three steals of his own while transfer junior
Max DePina recorded 14 points and seven rebounds.
Despite playing without one of the team's top scorers in
Josiah Basket, the Dolphins were in it all evening long. Both sides would trade leads in the early portion of the first half, and UMSV would be as close as five points with less than 13 minutes left in regulation. The Dolphins as a whole shot 44% from the floor while forcing 14 Centenary turnovers.
The Dolphins are now gearing up to head to Florida on Wednesday, where they'll challenge Concordia University (Wisconsin) and Augsburg University in the Daytona Beach Shootout.
