New York, NY - On the heels of the Daytona Beach Shootout, the University of Mount Saint Vincent returned home to New York, faced with the tall task of taking on Yeshiva University, one of the top teams in the Skyline. The Dolphins struggled all game long, dropping their first conference matchup of the season by the score of 112-75. The end result put UMSV at 4-7 overall this season, which includes a 1-1 record against Skyline opponents.
The Maccabees swarming defense did a number on the Dolphins offense.
DJ Tucker, who has been the team's standout performer all season long, was the lone Dolphin to score in double figures. Tucker added 11 points while knocking down five of six free throws, in addition to four rebounds and an assist.
Kevin Agyemang,
Adrian Rraci and
Max DePina, each of whom were in the starting lineup, had seven points apiece, with DePina also leading the team with seven boards.Â
Sophomore
Alex Chi came off the bench and scored nine points, going a perfect four-for-four from the field. Rraci led the way with three assists while Agyemang paced the squad with a pair of steals.Â
Despite the outcomes down south, there were some positives. Tucker recorded 31 points across two games, making him just the 18th player in program history to reach the 1,000 point mark. He joins a list that includes head coach
James Mooney, as well as 2023 graduate
Joshua Cabezudo.Â
The Dolphins will look to right the ship at home on Wednesday when they square off against Mount Saint Mary College.Â
