Dolphins Downed By Farmingdale On Road

Farmingdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent had a tough time on the road on Saturday afternoon, losing to a strong Farmingdale State College team by the score of 3-0. Despite the loss, the Dolphins remain in a prime spot for playoff contention with just four games left on their 2024 slate.

UMSV is now 8-5-2 overall, and their 3-4 conference mark is good for eighth in the Skyline standings.

The loss wasn't for a lack of scoring chances. The Dolphins outshot the Rams in both the first half (8-6) and the second half (10-8) with freshmen William Sornin and Edoardo Wicht leading the way with two shots on goal apiece. The impressive offensive trio of Sebastian Ciurlizza, Javier Trujillo and Amos Bignotti each had three shots across their time on the field.

Freshman Samuel Reine was in net for UMSV and turned away five of the eight shots that came his way.

The Dolphins will look to return to the win column on Saturday at home against St. Joseph's University Brooklyn.
