Poughkeepsie, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's soccer team hit the field for the first time in 2023 after a terrific 2022 season that saw them finish second in the Skyline Conference with a semifinal appearance. With a stronger non-conference slate, the Dolphins made their way up to Poughkeepsie to take on Vassar College. The contest weighed heavily in the Brewers' favor, as the home team walked away with a 4-0 victory.
Vassar's defense stifled
Stuart Dick's offense, with the Dolphins taking just four total shots, none of which reached the opposing goaltender. Freshman
Mia Del Rosario led the way with two total shots. Speaking of the first year player, five freshmen -
Brittany Boyle,
Cameron Cruz,
Maddie Halford,
Caitlyn Thompson and
Gisselle Soria - earned the start in the opening contest, while five others came off the bench.
2022 Second Team All-Skyline selection
Brooke Frierson got the call in net for CMSV and made seven saves in nearly 72 minutes of action. Sophomore
