Dolphins Take Down Rams, Win Second Conference Game

Farmingdale, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent women's lacrosse team headed to Farmingdale, New York to take on the Farmingdale State College Rams in a midweek Skyline Conference matchup. The Dolphins pulled out a 12-10 victory over the Rams, keeping their playoff hopes alive going into the last game of the season.

The Dolphins jumped out to a 5-1 lead early on and stayed atop by that score after the first period. Heading into the second period the Dolphins did not slow down, leading by a score of 7-4 at the halfway point of the match.

Coming out of halftime, the Dolphins kept their foot on the gas, out scoring the Rams by a score of 4-2 in the third period and leading by a score of 11-6 after playing three periods. The Rams attempted a comeback in the fourth period, out scoring the Dolphins by a score of 4-1, but it was not enough to win the game, as the Dolphins took the game by a score of 12-10.

The two big goal scorers for the Dolphins were Alicia Rodriguez, who scored four goals and also tallied two assists totaling six points on the day and Marisa Misuraca who scored three goals and also tallied three ground balls and five draw controls to help propel the Dolphins offense to the victory. Other big parts of the offense included senior duo Ashley Teal and Ava Starace, who each tallied two goals and one assist respectively. Starace also added two ground balls to her statline. However, arguably the most important part of the Dolphins winning effort today was junior goalkeeper Katherine Hungerford who saved nine out of the 19 shots she faced today, good for a 47% save percentage, propelling the Dolphins to their second conference victory on the season.

The Dolphins are back in action for their last regular season game of the year on Saturday against the Purchase College Panthers on home turf looking to close out the regular season on a high note with their second straight Skyline Conference victory.
