Riverdale, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's lacrosse team returned home on Wednesday for a Skyline Conference tilt, this time taking on Farmingdale State College. The Dolphins struggled to keep pace with the Rams after an early game surge, dropping the contest by the score of 23-4. CMSV remains active in looking for their first Skyline win of the 2023 season.
Both sides traded long possessions to kick off the contest, but it was the Dolphins who would strike first. Leading scorer
Andrew Dzubak would get the Dolphins on the board in the early going, scoring the first two goals of the game to put his team up early. After the Rams scored three consecutive goals,
Ryan Jean-Pharuns would close out the first quarter with his 13th goal of the season to tie things up at three.
The Dolphins would hang around in the second quarter, as
Jacob Cochran would make it a 7-4 game with just four minutes to go in the half. From there, however, it was all Rams.
The Dolphins offense would be blanked in the second half, while Farmingdale pumped up their efforts, scoring 14 unanswered goals to walk away with the win.
In addition to the goals scored, Cochran,
Richie Albert and
Isaac Parsons would each pick up assists.
Sawyer Davis received his 12th start in net and made an impressive 23 saves in the losing effort. Cochran would pace CMSV with three ground balls while defenseman
Adrian Guillermo led the way with three caused turnovers.
The Dolphins will close out their home schedule this weekend. They'll take on Maritime College in the first portion of a lacrosse double header, with the contest kicking off at noon.
