Mahwah, NJ - The Mount Saint Vincent women's lacrosse team traveled to Mahwah, New Jersey to take on the Ramapo College Roadrunners on Saturday afternoon in their second game of the season. The Dolphins played a hard fought back and forth game, but it ultimately resulted in a 19-15 loss for the Dolphins.
           
The Dolphins started slow in the first period, trailing the Roadrunners 5-2, but they came out hot in the second period, outscoring the Roadrunners by a score of 7-3 and leading the game at the half by a score of 9-8. 
Alicia Rodriguez played a massive role in the Dolphins success, tallying six goals, two assists along with five caused turnovers and 10 draw controls. Another big part of the Dolphins success was senior attacker 
Ava Starace, who had five goals and one assist of her own to help the her team try to mount a comeback.
Junior goalkeeper 
Katherine Hungerford tallied 13 saves in her attempt to halt the Roadrunners scoring chances. Senior midfielder 
Ashley Teal also tallied a goal and two assists of her own along with four draw controls to help mount the Dolphins comeback attempt. Ultimately, the Dolphins fell short against the Roadrunners and fall to 0-2 early in the 2023 campaign.
The Dolphins are back in action Saturday, March 11 at 1 PM against the Utica University Pioneers at the newly renovated Marillac Field for their first home game of the year.
