Yaphank, NY - The Mount Saint Vincent baseball team took on the CCNY Beavers today in Yaphank, New York looking to extend their winning streak to four games.
John Muller's squad won the first game in dramatic fashion as the Dolphins came out victorious in extra innings by a score of 10-9. The second game was way more relaxed for the Dolphins,as they cruised to a 17-3 victory extending their winning streak to four games.
The Dolphins sent
Angelo Bartziokas to the bump to make his first start in Dolphins gold. Bartziokas went three innings, allowing three runs on four hits and tallying three strikeouts in the process, leaving the Dolphins with a good chance to come out with a victory. The offense exploded for the Dolphins today, scoring 10 runs on 10 hits. Senior infielder
Jake Pierre was a huge part of the Dolphins offense today tallying two hits and four RBI, including a walk-off grand slam.
Freshman outfielder Danny Dinorcia stayed hot today, collecting two hits in five at bats and fellow freshman
Will Granata came through in the clutch for the Dolphins in the sixth inning with a pinch hit two-run ground rule to keep the rally alive that would eventually knot the game at six. In the bottom of the ninth inning with the bases loaded and no outs s enior infielder
Jake Pierre came through with the most clutch hit of the Dolphins young season with a walk-off grand slam that hit off the scoreboard in right field to propel the Dolphins to a dramatic 10-9 victory in game one.
Game 2 was a slugfest for the Dolphins, as they hit six home runs to go along with their 17 run outburst. Graduate student Eric Zimmerman hit a solo homerun in the first inning, breaking the all-time CMSV home run record. Senior infielder

Will Granata going yard once and Danny Dinorcia going yard twice to bring his tally to three on this young season.

Aidan Rice also had a solid outing against the Beavers, going five and two thirds innings allowing three runs on seven hits while walking none and striking out one. Sophomore pitcher
Aidan Cardenas closed out the win for the Dolphins, hurling an inning and a third scoreless while striking out three including striking out the side in the seventh inning to end the game and leaving the Dolphins victorious for their fourth straight game.
The Dolphins are back in action next Sunday, March 12 against the Thiel College Tomcats in Fort Pierce, Florida for their spring training trip.
