Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Dolphins Earn Seventh Skyline Win Against Maccabees

Riverdale, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's soccer team earned their seventh Skyline Conference win on Wednesday when they hosted Yeshiva University with the playoffs less than two weeks away. It was a strong effort from the Dolphins in all facets in a game that was won by the score of 6-0. The team's 7-0-2 record is the best in the conference as of this writing.

The Dolphins scored early and often in a contest that was controlled by the home team. Junior leader Alicia Rodriguez continued her tremendous third season with the Dolphins when she scored in fourth minute, good for her team-best 27th point on the year. Striker Victoria Gamarra scored two first half goals of her own, with Shayla Hassler, Lena Marin and Emily Legler each picking up assists.

It was more of the same in the second half. Caitlyn Thompson and Emily Brownell would secure goals while Gamarra completed the hat trick in the 87th minute. The Dolphins defense didn't see much action, with freshman Kaitlyn Grady - who earned her first collegiate start - saved the lone shot that reached net.

With the season nearing its end, the Dolphins have developed into one of the premiere teams in the conference. They'll look to continue their winning ways on Saturday when they take on the third-seeded Farmingdale State Rams in a semifinal matchup from a season ago.
