Union, NJ - The Dolphins returned to New Jersey for non-conference action, this time taking on Kean University. CMSV was looking to make up for their last non-conference game in the state when they took a loss to FDU-Florham, but unfortunately they suffered the same fate, dropping the contest to the Cougars by the score of 4-0.
The loss puts the Dolphins at 2-2 through four games.
Despite facing off against tough competition, the Dolphins kept things close in the first half. Outside of a Kean goal in the 21st minute of action, CMSV went toe to toe with the Cougars entering the locker room at halftime.
Unfortunately for the Dolphins, the Cougars hit another gear in the second half as they scored three unanswered goals to secure the victory.
Freshmen Dana DeDemonicis and Victoria Gamarra were the only Dolphins to record shots on goal. Freshman Javiera Sanchez and sophomore Brooke Frierson split time in net, combining for four saves.
With four games under their belt, CMSV is now ready for Skyline play. They'll take on the United States Merchant Marine Academy this coming Tuesday in King's Point.
