Dolphins Take On Valiants, Drop Two In Double Header

Purchase, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's softball team traveled to nearby Manhattanville College on Sunday and were looking to secure the first conference win of the 2022 season. That feat will have to wait another day, as the Dolphins dropped both games to the Valiants by the scores of 13-0 and 9-1.

The losses put CMSV's overall record at 3-17 through 20 games.

The top of Miguel Justiniano's lineup did their best over the two game slate. Senior Abigail Laurendeau, sophomore Kaitlin Cirillo and junior Jocelyn Vega, the top three batters in the order, accounted for six of the team's seven total hits, with the threesome collecting two hits apiece. Freshman Kelly Murphy also recorded a hit in the second game against Manhattanville.

Vega, Katie Hutter, Kimberly Media-Ocasio and Charlotte Kelly combined for 12 innings of work for the Dolphins on the mound.

CMSV will look to get back in the win column starting on Thursday when they challenge Saint Elizabeth University in a road double header.
