Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

The CMSV baseball team traveled to Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. to take on the Raptors of Bard College. The Dolphins were carried by a heavy offensive attack as they split the series with Bard, 12-7 and 4-3.

The first matchup was all Dolphins as they were able to record 18 hits against the Raptors. CMSV jumped out to an early 3-0 lead over Bard as senior Jake Blinstrub and junior Jake Pierre hit back to back singles. Senior Michael Grisanti doubled to bring home Pierre, and with the bases loaded, a walk brought another run to end the inning for the Dolphins.

The Dolphins had another huge inning in the 3rd as they scored four runs. Sophomore Sean Kennedy doubled, and was brought home by a single from freshman Jason Albert. With the bases loaded, senior Tyler Paulino tripled to bring home three runs and give them a 7-1 lead.

The Dolphins pitching rotation featured juniors Aidan Rice and Douglas Johnson as well as senior Chris Mantione, and sophomore Sean Kennedy. This core only allowed nine hits in the first game.

The Dolphins' offense stalled and allowed the Raptors to make a comeback, but a big 6th inning saw CMSV take a 9-6 lead behind a pair of singles by Pierre and senior Matt DiNorcia. Grisanti singled as well to bring home the second run.

The 7th inning was another big inning for the Dolphins as a single by Paulino set up a two run homer by Pierre to give the Dolphins the 11-7 lead. CMSV finished the game with a single by DiNorcia and a Grisanti triple to secure the 12-7 win for the Dolphins.

The second matchup was a little different for the Dolphins as Bard made a few adjustments to their game plan as they defeated the Dolphins 4-3.

Although the Dolphins' defense only gave up eight hits, The Dolphins struggled offensively. Blinstrub went 2-4 in the second game and was responsible for two of the runs scored, but it wasn't enough to lead them to a victory.

The Dolphins will have to regroup quickly as they prepare to take the field for another doubleheader against City Colleges of New York tomorrow March 6th at 11am and 2pm
