Game Recap: Baseball |

Offensive Struggles Doom Dolphins Against Rams

Bronx, NY- The CMSV baseball team took to the field for the third consecutive day looking to continue their hot play as they took on Farmingdale State College in a conference doubleheader. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, some offensive struggles led them to two losses to the Rams, 5-1 and 2-1.

The first game saw three straight runs for the Rams in the first four innings before the Dolphins would score their lone run. Senior Eric Zimmermann was able to hit a double to put two Dolphins in scoring position, and a single from classmate Michael Grisanti would bring home one run, but that would be all for CMSV as they only tallied seven total hits on the game.

The Dolphins allowed two more runs, and that would prove to be too much to overcome as they dropped the first game.

The second matchup was a close one for both teams as the game remained within one run for the entirety of the match. The Dolphins allowed one run in the second inning, but was able to break even in the fifth inning as senior Jake Blinstrub's sacrifice fly brought home Engers Marte, who singled early in the inning.

The Dolphins then allowed another run in the sixth on an error, and ultimately couldn't find a way to match that run, falling to Farmingdale State, 2-1.

The Dolphins will look to bounce back from their offensive struggles as they take on the Maccabees of Yeshiva Friday, April 1st.
