Riverdale, NY - The Dolphins played host to Skyline Conference rivals on Saturday morning, as both St. Joseph's College-Long Island and Purchase College came to Riverdale to battle one another in a tri-match. Unfortunately for CMSV, they struggled throughout both contests, losing to the Golden Eagles in straight sets while losing to the Panthers in four. The losses put the Dolphins at 3-4 against the conference and 3-9 overall.
While the end result wasn't what head coach
Courtney Bernstein and her team wanted, individual success was on full display throughout the afternoon of play. Junior
Samuel Martinez once again impressed, collecting 14 kills and a pair of blocks in both contests. Sophomore
Kyle Thompson was also a boon to the Dolphins' offense, with six kills in each game. He also dug 17 balls as well.
Kevin Erhand (11 kills),
Shane Stein (three aces, two blocks) and
Terence Strehle (16 assists, six kills, six digs) also aided in the team's efforts.
Conference play rolls on for the Dolphins as the postseason nears. They'll square off against New Jersey City University at home this Tuesday.
