Annandale-on-Hudson, NY - It's been nearly two years since CMSV's men's volleyball team took the court for a game day matchup, but they did that on Saturday afternoon when they traveled upstate to Bard College to compete in two matches against the Raptors. The Dolphins fought hard but dropped both contests in three sets.
New faces were all over the court for Courtney Bernstein's squad, with a number of them making positive over the course of the afternoon. In game one, sophomore Kyle Thompson in his first collegiate appearance, pacing the Dolphins in kills (four) and aces (three) while adding four digs and three assists. Kevin Erhand impressed on both ends of the game, adding three kills and three blocks to the stat sheet. Terence Strehle added two kills of his own while Miguel Losa led the way with 10 helpers.
While the second contest had similar results, the Dolphins received production from all over the roster. Key returners Christian Santiago and Samuel Martinez combined for six kills, with Martinez also contributing five blocks. Martinez, Strehle and James Rose each recorded aces while Felix Paulino had nine digs.
With their first taste of action under their belt, the Dolphins will look to get their first win of the season in front of their home fans this coming Tuesday.
