Riverdale, NY - The women's basketball team had their final regular season game on Saturday afternoon, matching up against Purchase College for a last tuneup before the Skyline Conference playoffs begin next week. The Dolphins rolled over the competition, defeating the Panthers by the score of 66-35. The team finished 17-5 overall and 15-5 against the conference. They'll finish third in the Skyline and play host to Farmingdale State College in the first round this coming Tuesday.
CMSV was on top from the first whistle to the last, as they never trailed Purchase while forcing them to shoot just 22% from the floor. It was a terrific performance for the Dolphins, who saw contributions from all over their roster.
Melanieann Broderick was featured heavily on the offensive end and rewarded the coaching staff in the process, as she dominated with 28 points and 21 rebounds while converting half of her shot attempts.
Dez Brown had nine points and nine rebounds while
Catherine Amodio added nine boards of her own.
Shania Wolfe-White,
Manolia Argyros and
Tiffany Williamson came off the bench and combined for 14 points.
The stage is set for Tuesday, as the Rams come to Riverdale with a .500 conference record. Tip-off is set for 6 PM.
