Purchase, NY - The men's basketball team has been playing strong basketball of late, but it hasn't been reflected with wins. On Tuesday night, the Dolphins were looking to do just that when they traveled up the line to take on Purchase Panthers. While the first half show encouraging signs, the final 20 minutes of play resulted in a losing effort, with the Dolphins dropping the contest to the Panthers by the score of 94-88. 

The Dolphins dropped to 5-6 in the conference, as well as 7-11 overall. 

The first 20 minutes couldn't have gone better for James Mooney's squad. The Dolphins shot 58% from the field, including an impressive 64% from beyond the arc in the first half. A stingy CMSV defense caused eight turnovers on the other end of the floor while allowing Purchase to make just 14 of 35 attempts from the field. 

The second half, however, was a different story. The Panthers outscored the Dolphins by 17 points in the second half, including erasing an 11 point CMSV lead. Seniors Kalos Evans and Dorian Robinson, as well as junior Dan Porcic, all did their best to make it a game in the waning minutes, but Purchase was able to pull away with the win due to clutch free throws. 

Speaking of Porcic, the junior had his best offensive performance for the Dolphins to date, as he poured in a season high 38 points while knocking down all nine free throw attempts. Robinson also had a career performance on the offensive end, as his 17 points were a career high, and he did so on efficient shooting (six of nine from the field). Kelvin Turner Harris (12) and Elijah McKenzie (10) also finished with double digit points while Aaron Darab led the way with eight boards.

The Dolphins will look to right the ship this weekend against the College of Old Westbury.
