Women’s Cross Country Team

Men’s, Women’s Cross Country Places Ninth In MSMC Invitational

Milton, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's and women's cross country team competed in the Hudson Valley Sports Dome in an invitational hosted by Mount Saint Mary College. The Dolphins faced off againsts institutions including the Knights, USMMA, Purchase, Manhattanville and Sarah Lawrence, among others, with both teams finishing ninth overall. 

Carlos Martinez once again led the way for the Dolphins on the men's side of things, with his 34.27.5 performance earning him yet another top 50 finish (47th overall). Matthew Smajlaj wasn't far behind, finishing 53 overall among 97 runners. Jeffrey Santana, Sean Goodwin, Joe Santana and Rusbert Jimenez all placed in the race as well. 

For the women, it was two sport athlete Catherine Amodio who stood out for CMSV. The senior was a top 35 finisher with a 33.55.3 run time. Jocelyn Vega and Kayla Hanley - another pair of dual-sport athletes for the Dolphins - finished in the top 60 while Sofia Marcos and Shania Wolfe-White weren't far behind. 

The Dolphins will now look to St. Joseph's University Long Island for their next competition.
