Milton, NY - It was championship Sunday for the College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's and women's cross country teams, as the Dolphins went upstate to Milton to compete in the Skyline Conference's final race at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome. CMSV went up against USMMA, St. Joseph's University Brooklyn and Long Island, Maritime, Farmingdale, Mount Saint Mary's, Manhattanville Yeshiva, Purchase, Old Westbrury and Sarah Lawrence, with the men finishing 10th and the women 11th.
All five runners on the women's side finished in the top 67 runners, with over 85 athletics participating. It was
Catherine Amodio who led the way for the Dolphins, with the senior finishing 47th overall with a 35.44.8 run time.
Jocelyn Vega and
Kayla Hanley finished 58th and 59th, respectively, while
Sofia Marcos (65) and
Shania Wolfe-White (67) rounding out the group.
Sophomore
Carlos Martinez finished his stellar season with the Dolphins in impressive fashion, as his 7.31.5 mile time placed him 46th overall.
Matthew Smajlaj finished 59th overall while
Derrick Holley,
Sean Goodwin,
Rusbert Jimenez and
Joe Santana all placed in the event.
The Dolphins wrapped up their season on Sunday, setting the foundation for a strong program in the coming years.
