Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Dolphins Top Bears For Sixth Straight Victory

Riverdale, NY - As the College of Mount Saint Vincent held their Reunion and Homecoming Weekend, the women's soccer team put on a show for family, friends and alumni as they cruised to an impressive 3-1 win over St. Joseph's University Brooklyn on Saturday. The victory marked the sixth straight for the Dolphins, with their 7-1 Skyline record good for third place in the conference.

On a day where the program also honored their senior class, the final-year players made their presence felt on the pitch. The first to do so was senior Lilli Marin, who scored her fifth goal of the season when she went top-left on a penalty shot attempt to give the Dolphins a one goal lead. Despite the Bears tying things up before the half ended, CMSV did a tremendous job limiting shot attempts, with the visitors taking just six first half shots.

The Dolphins continued their pressure on both sides of the field, with the scoreboard eventually swaying in their favor. Sophomore Alicia Rodriguez picked up a rebound from a Kailey Conner shot attempt to regain the lead for her team, with senior and top offensive player Emily McCarthy sealing the deal with a a shot from the top of the box. While the offense battered the opposing goaltender, CMSV's defense held firm on the back end, allowing just one additional shot attempt in the entire second half.

The Dolphins will look to continue their winning ways and make it seven straight next week when they head to Throggs Neck on Tuesday to take on Maritime College.
