Dolphins Right The Ship Over Gryphons

Riverdale, NY - The Dolphins returned to the Peter Jay Sharp Center court on Wednesday evening, looking to get back in the win column against Sarah Lawrence College. It's been a tough past two games for the Dolphins, as the team battled valiantly but ultimately lost to both Farmingdale State and USMMA. Fortunately for James Mooney's squad, being back home was exactly what the team needed, as CMSV went out there and finished out a strong contest, beating the Gryphons 79-65.

It was a complete game for CMSV, as the Dolphins led both at halftime and at the final whistle. Despite Sarah Lawrence's attempts to stage comebacks, the Dolphins held strong over the course of 40 minutes. As a whole, CMSV shot an impressive 51% from the floor, including 36 points in the paint, 32 points from the team's bench unit and 25 points off 24 turnovers.

Junior Dan Porcic came off the bench against Sarah Lawrence and provided an instant spark. The junior paced the Dolphins with 17 points while shooting an impressive 50% from beyond the arc. Both  Kalos Evans and Aaron Darab picked up where they left off at USMMA, as the back court duo scored 14 and 12 points, respectively, with Evans adding six assists and four rebounds and Darab contributing four and four of his own.

Elijah McKenzie and Dillon Hod had efficient performances, with the duo knocking down four of five attempts from the floor. Senior Dorian Robinson provided a spark of his own five five assists and three steals.

Once again over .500 against the Skyline, the Dolphins will look to keep the momentum in their favor on Saturday when Manhattanville College comes to Riverdale.
