Dolphins Fall Back To .500 Against Valiants

Box Score Riverdale, NY - After a big win over Sarah Lawrence College this past Wednesday, the men's basketball team was back in the Sharp Center on Sunday looking to win a second straight game against Skyline Conferece foes. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, their up-and-down season continued, struggling through the duration of the evening affair en route to a 10 point loss to Manhattanville College.

CMSV fell to 5-5 against the conference, good for fourth in the Skyline's southern division.

Despite trailing for most of the contest, James Mooney's team kept things tight, especially in the first half. Both the Dolphins and Valiants traded baskets, including at the 15 minute mark, when CMSV jumped out to a two point lead. As a whole, the Dolphins shot just 33% from the floor but out-rebounded Manhattanville 21-20.

The Dolphins's offensive woes continued into the second half, as the team converted 13 of 35 field goal attempts, including going five of 14 from three. The struggles proved to be too much for CMSV, as the Valiants knocked down key buckets to seal the victory.

Junior Dan Porcic did his best to keep his team in the game, as the standout came off the bench and scored a team high 26 points while shooting 50% from the floor. The Putnam, Connecticut native also added five rebounds to the stat sheet. Sophomore Elijah McKenzie also finished in double figures, scoring 11 points while also adding 10 boards, good for his second double-double of the season. Senior Dorian Robinson made his presence felt while on the floor, chipping in five points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals while Kalos Evans added nine points of his own.

The Dolphins will look to get back into the win column later this week when they head to Purchase College to take on the Panthers.
