Purchase, NY - The women's basketball team was back on the road on Saturday afternoon for their third straight Skyline Conference game to start the new year, this time against Purchase College. The Dolphins' winning ways continued, defeating the Panthers by the score of 61-36.
CMSV improved their record to 8-3 overall and 6-3 within the conference. The 6-3 mark is good for fourth in the Skyline.
Sophomore transfer Melanieann Broderick helped the Dolphins get off to a strong start, scoring the team's first four points to open play. As a whole, the Dolphins jumped out to a 17-9 lead in the first and went into halftime up 31-18.
The second half was more of the same for Phil Stern's Dolphins, as six different players registered a basket in the second half.
Senior Victoria Hanley continued her tremendous start to the new year, recording her third straight double-double with a team-high 19 points and 16 rebounds. She also added six steals to the stat sheet.
Broderick also finished in double digits with 14 points, while Amber Been added 10 boards and six assists. Barbara Valentine chipped in eight points and nine rebounds in the win.
The Dolphins will look to continue their winning ways this coming week, starting with St. Joe's Brooklyn on January 20.
