Dolphins Sweep Tri-Match, Improve To 3-1 On The Year

Wilkes-Barre, PA - The Dolphins returned to the court for the second time this season, once again participating in a road tri-match against Wilkes University and Marywood University. Despite an early morning road trip to Pennsylvania, CMSV emerged victorious in both contests, beating both teams in consecutive sets.

The Dolphins proved to be an overpowering matchup for the Pacers, as they won each set by no less than eight points. The veteran Dez Brown was one of the standout performers for CMSV with a team-high eight kills and four blocks. Sophomore transfer Melanieann Broderick continued the strong start to her new collegiate career, tying Brown in kills. Samantha Schroeder dominated the serving game with four service aces, while Madison Gale did a tremendous job setting up her teammates with an impressive 31 assists.

CMSV didn't slow down in their matchup against Wilkes, winning by the scores of 25-21, 25-19 and 25-21. This time it was the senior duo of Rianna Rivera and Lindsay DeBoer, who combined for 18 kills. Gale and Olivia Kane added two services aces a piece, with Brown coming back with another strong performance (eight kills, four blocks).

Non-conference games will continue, but this time at the Peter Jay Sharp Center. The Dolphins will play host to Rutgers-Newark this coming Tuesday, playing in Riverdale for the first time since the 2019 season. The action can be found live on CMSVAthletics.com.
