Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Dolphins Topple William Patterson In Five Set Battle

Riverdale, NY - After a tough conference loss to the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Tuesday, CMSV's women's volleyball team returned to their home floor on Thursday night, taking on the traveling William Paterson University. It was a back and forth battle, with each team trading the first four sets; but it was the Dolphins who emerged victorius, winning set five 15-13. The Dolphins' overall record now stands at 8-6 on the year.

It was an impressive contest offensively for the senior duo of Samantha Schroeder and Lindsay DeBoer, with the two hitters combining for 29 total kills. Schroeder specifically stood out in the first set (four kills) and third set (three services aces) while DeBoer collected four kills of her own in the fourth.

Sophomore Isabella Garcia continued to make her mark on the Dolphins' roster, as the newcomer collected 29 digs over the course of the game while also adding a pair of assists. Speaking of helpers, Madison Gale stood out once again, as the senior captain added an eye-popping 30 assists, giving her an even 330 for the year. Brianna Ayuso aided in the team's set up as well, handing off a career-high 12 helpers as well.

Dez Brown and Rianna Rivera dominated the middle, as the seniors added 14 kills and nine total blocks.

The Dolphins will now turn their attention back on the Skyline Conference. They'll gear up and get ready for Farmingdale State on Monday when they travel to Long Island. Catch the action live at CMSVAthletics.com.
