Kings Point, NY - Women's volleyball was back in action on Tuesday evening, looking to bring their Skyline Conference record to 2-1 when they traveled to Long Island to take on the United States Merchant Marine Academy in a highly anticipated rematch from the 2019 Skyline Conference playoffs. The Dolphins struggled over the course of three sets, losing by the scores of 25-15, 25-21 and 25-18. CMSV is now 7-6 on the season, with a conference record of 1-2.
Only in the second set did the Dolphins challenge the Mariners in a major way, as they traded leads on eight different occasions.
The senior duo of
Samantha Schroeder and
Lindsay DeBoer led the charge offensively for the Dolphins, combining for six kills apiece, both a team-high. Gale once again stood out as a table setter, collecting 20 assists in the affair. Graduate student
Dez Brown added four kills while
Olivia Kane had nine digs.
The Dolphins will look to right their wrongs in a non-conference home matchup on Thursday against WIlliam Patterson University. The contest is scheduled to start at 7 PM.
