Riverdale, NY - The Dolphins continued their unbeaten run this season, beating the Mount Saint Mary Knights by the score of 3-1. The crowd was out and the energy was high in the first game at Marillac Field since 2019.
The game started off with a piece of pure skill from junior
Antonio Padilla in the second minute, as he wrapped the outside of his boot around the ball to finish off a beautiful pass from
Tyrone Malango. Mount Saint Mary equalized from a corner in the 39th minute and that was the end of action for the first half.
The Dolphins would come out strong in the second half, putting a ton of pressure on the opponent's back line. The Dolphins pulled ahead in the 65th minute through a rebound scored by
Isaac Tamer. The game was put to bed by
Ian Lamas when he controlled the ball down and struck it into the bottom corner from 25 yards out. The defense, led by keeper
Joel Luna, was strong throughout the game and finished stronger upon a wave of pressure from the 10 men Knights.
The Dolphins will be back in action Tuesday at Manhattanville College, when they'll look to keep up their scintillating form in conference.
