Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Dolphins Dominate In Skyline Conference Opener

Purchase, NY - CMSV's women's soccer team opened Skyline Conference play on Tuesday evening when they traveled to Purchase College to take on the Panthers. The Dolphins made a statement in the opener, dominating from the opening whistle and winning by the score of 6-1.

CMSV got off to a quick start thanks to junior standout Emily McCarthy, who is quickly emerging as a top player within the conference this season. McCarthy converted two shots for goals within the first eight minutes of play, all but putting the game away for the Dolphins. While Purchase responded with a goal of their own at the 17 minute mark, that was the last time they'd get on the board.

McCarthy scored another in the 42nd minute to close out the first half, and then buried one more for good measure to open up the second half. Longtime starter Cristina Britton put one past the Panthers goaltender in the 68th minute, which was followed up by a score from freshman Alicia Rodriguez, her second on the season.

Kora-Lynn McCullough returned from injury and received her first start of the season. She turned away all but one shot she saw in the victory. On top of McCarthy's four goals, she also registered two assists. That gives her 19 points on the season, good for a Skyline Conference best.

Now on a two game winning streak, the Dolphins will look to continue their winning ways when they host Sarah Lawrence College on Saturday afternoon. Watch the action live on CMSVAthletics.com
