Madison, NJ - The Dolphins were back in New Jersey for the second time in as many games on Wednesday evening, this time taking on FDU-Florham in more non-conference action. Despite keeping things close in the early going, CMSV ultimately fell to the Devils, losing by three goals in 90 minutes of action. The Dolphins are now 0-2-1 through the first three games of the 2021 season.
After the Devils took an early lead in the 24th minute, CMSV responded just six minutes later. Freshman
Alicia Rodriguez secured her first collegiate goal off a pass from classmate
Amanda Cotroneo, who also collected her first career point, good for the first goal of the game for the Dolphins. But that would be all for the road team, as FDU-Florham put three more goals in throughout the second half, securing their win.
Junior
Emily McCarthy led the way with three shots. After
Jamie-Lynne Clarke received her first start for the Dolphins, freshman
Brooke Frierson relieved her in the second half.
The Dolphins will get one final tuneup before setting their sights on the Skyline Conference when they head to Pennsylvania to take on Neumann University this Saturday.
