Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Dolphins Cruise To Victory In Win Over Pratt

Manhattan, NY - CMSV men's soccer team played their first "home" contest of the 2021 this season - although it took place in Manhattan and not Riverdale - when they challenged the Pratt Institute in a non-conference battle. The Dolphins put on a showcase of their offensive talent, dominating the Cannoneers and winning by the score of 5-1. It was the Dolphins' second win on the year, bringing their record to 2-0-1.

The Dolphins got on the board almost immediately, scoring within the first two minutes when senior leader Luciano Cirelli buried a shot off a pass from Carlos Romero. Less than 10 minutes later, it was Cirelli's turn to be the helper, as his corner kick was booted in by Fernando Guzman to extend the Dolphins' lead to two.

The offensive output didn't stop there, as CMSV scored twice more before the first half ended; first from Jonathan Gaytan off a pass from Lukas Cunha, with Guzman following up with his second of the day off a pass from Ruben Collazos. As a whole, the Dolphins outshot Pratt 15-2 over the first 45 minutes.

CMSV's dominance continued in the second half, as they controlled the ball in a major way while Carlos Romero put the icing on the cake with the fifth and final goal of the contest.

The defense, too, did a tremendous job, led by goaltender Joel Luna and defenders Cirelli, Dennis Andino and Isaac Tamer, among others.

After a successful non-conference slate, the Dolphins will now set their sights on Skyline play. They'll kick off conference action against Martime College on September 22.
