Game Recap: Baseball |

Baseball Downed By Mariners In Conference Double Header

Riverdale, NY - The CMSV baseball team traveled to Kings Point to face off against the Mariners of the United States Merchant Marine Academy. The Dolphins had a tough day as they dropped two games to the Mariners, 4-0 and 11-1.

The Dolphins struggled offensively as they only recorded one hit in the final inning to stop a perfect game. Outfielder Anthony Nocero singled to left field with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning for the Dolphins.

Aidan Rice stepped on the mound in the first matchup of the doubleheader striking out five batters and only allowing 10 hits, but with the offensive struggles and a few errors, the Dolphins fell to the Mariners, giving Rice his first loss of the season.

The second game was a close matchup early in the game as the game was tied at one until the fourth inning where the Mariners scored three more runs to push the lead to 4-1. The Dolphins would knock on the door of scoring, but left seven men on base, and would be held at one run in the game.

Matt DiNorcia would be a bright spot for the Dolphins in the second game hitting 2-4, and provide the Dolphins with half of their hits, but his efforts weren't enough to lead CMSV to victory.

The Dolphins look to regroup as they return to King's Point tomorrow to face off against the Mariners.
