Kings Point, NY - The CMSV Men's Lacrosse team traveled to King's Point as they took on the USMMA Mariners in their first game back since March 27. The Dolphins fought hard but fell to the Mariners 21-3.
The Mariners started off hot scoring seven straight goals in the first quarter. Junior Patrick Nagy slowed them down with an assisted goal from freshman Joseph Santana in the second quarter, but the Mariners would continue their hot play adding four goals of their own going into halftime, 11-1.
The Dolphins would continue to play hard, but the Mariners continue to apply pressure as they scored eight unanswered goals in the third quarter.
Freshman Jacob Cochran was a bright spot for the Dolphins as he scored two goals in the fourth quarter. After a smooth spin move that would free him from a Mariner double team, Cochran would put one past the goalie to cut the deficit down. The Dolphins played hard until the end, but the effort didn't show in the final score.
The Dolphins will look to regroup as they face off against the Rams of Farmingdale State College Saturday, April 24.
