Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Dolphins Struggle At Home Tri-Match

Riverdale,NY- The Men's Volleyball took their home court Saturday afternoon looking to continue their strong start in conference play. After two hard fought matches the Dolphins fell to both Ramapo and St. Joseph's Brooklyn in straight sets.

The Dolphins took on the Roadrunners from Ramapo in the first match of todays tri-match. They would fall in straight sets (25-11,25-19,25-10)  despite the loss the Dolphins certainly had some bright spots in the first match. The Freshmen duo of Mark Nilaj and Samuel Martinez combined for 10 kills and 3 blocks. On the Defensive end it was all freshmen Nilaj, Felix Paulino and Terence Strehle combined for 12 digs.

The second match of the day featured three very tightly contested matches. CMSV would fall in straight sets(25-14,25-17,25-23). It was the freshmen getting it done for the Dolphins yet again, Strehle and Nilaj had 8 kills a piece and Martinez would rack up three blocks for the Dolphins. Senior Padelis Astrinidis played a big role in the match as he picked up 22 assists.

The Dolphins will need to put this one behind them quickly as they take their home court again Monday night for non-conference action against Colby-Sawyer at 7PM. The Men now sit at an overall record of 2-17 and a Skyline Conference record of 2-4.
