Riverdale, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's volleyball team was back in action for the second time this week, this time playing host to Trine University on Friday evening. The Dolphins entered play with an overall record of 2-14 but sport an even .500 record against the Skyline Conference. Despite a tough battle, CMSV ultimately fell to the Thunder in three straight sets.
Despite dropping all three sets, the Dolphins showed heart - especially in the second set, where at one point CMSV led 19-11. Freshman
Terence Strehle led the way with a team-high six kills in the outing and also added two digs. The duo of
Mark Nilaj and
Padelis Astrinidis combined for five kills of their own while
Samuel Martinez,
Felix Paulino and
Christian Santiago had one apiece. Astrinidis was also the team leader in assists (nine).
Now 2-15 on the season, the Dolphins return to conference action on Saturday afternoon when they host a tri-match featuring St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn and Ramapo College.
